I didn't know Americans drank tea.

Oh we do, we do, but in ways calculated to infuriate our English friends.
Especially those of us in the American South who drink iced tea.

I'll have hot tea occasionally. No milk, just a little sugar.

How do you make your iced tea? I'll probably get a lot of flak, but this is how I make it:

Heat 6 cups of water in a microwave safe coffeemaker for 8 minutes. Bubbles are just starting to form, I don't let it come to a full boil.

Remove from microwave, add one-half cup of sugar to hot water and stir thoroughly.

Drop in 2 regular sized tea bags and let it sit until the water reaches room temperature.

Pour into 2 quart pitcher and add cold water to make 2 quarts.

Enjoy!
