Bill I loved your photos... GREAT son to help your MOM move ,at best that's a very hard job to, families seem to keep stuff they will never see or use again, My late hubby, kept everything, true, if he needed a little of this or that he had, could find it to use.
I would love to downsize , before too many more years, I'm working on in my mind, what to keep and what to let go of now !!!, I tell myself it's just stuff, which is true. , just need a few things for myself now, our Daughter doesn't plan to come back home to live, so this big house must go, comfortable, for something easy to care for, like a living area/ fireplace /gas or electric logs, kitchen area together, 1 bedroom, an office, a bathroom ,
a garage., small yard,I have photos of a Farmhouse I really love, will see what I can do with that. A nice empty lot a few houses down from where I live now.. I'll have a downsizing Sale to move those things I won't need. lol, theres a lot of all that stuff... I've kept way too long.

Well thanks, but I don't think it's anything especially praise worthy. I mean, isn't helping your Mom the normal thing to do? I'd do it for my brothers too, and they for me

Yes, it is the normal thing to do. You would be surprised at how many families are not normal.
Especially you going into peoples homes every day, you must see a lot of dysfunctional families.

It's hard to tell, I'm only there a short time, and rarely do I see arguments and such

That is why I am worried ..... a long break is too good, but the starting time after the break is traumatic.

Moving when you are 30 years old is not easy; for sure moving at 8o is more difficult. All the nice things and memories that have to be sorted through.

I have helped move quite a few people and it is always very difficult and hard work. How does one gather all those things is always in my mind.

I remember the last people I helped to move. I rented a truck at my expense and took a week off of work to move them from two different states back to Ohio.
A few years later when I move into the house I live in now none of them came to help. To busy even though none had a job to take up their time. I was just moving across town.

Only one person from work came to help. I didn't even know his first name at the time because he just started working there. Found out his name was Bob.

The only complaint he had was he wished I didn't have so many books to move. They get heavy very quick.
About 2 years later Bob mentioned he was going to be helping another person at the place we worked to move. I offered my help and it took us 3 days to move her with lots of snow blowing and very cold.

For all those that help other move; thank you and great job.
We need more of such people.

I would have so much to say about that but as I have decided I don't talk in public about other people behind their backs, I'll just say that I am happy it is like that in your family.

Bill, my non-native English might have caused my previous post to come out too harsh losing its point. I really am happy you have such a close and good relationship with your family, I was only talking about my life, referring to my family.

I hope you got what I meant :).
