I wonder how many kids would have phones, laptops, tablets if they had to work for them.
When I was a kid if you wanted something besides normal food, clothing and shelter you worked for it. Then you took your earned money and went shopping. I would look all over town to find somebody that would pay for work done.
I would do just about anything for cash.

No wonder, at their inflated prices. The kids are desperate.

People pay extra $$$ for that Apple logo. If you look at an Otterbox for an iPhone, there is a large circular opening on the case back. When I first saw that, I figured it was for the camera or something like that. Nope. It's so that the Apple logo won't be covered up by the case since it would be unforgivable for that logo to be hidden on someone's status symbol.

I was given an Ipad3/64gb as a present and I am quite happy with it. However, if I had to purchase a tablet, I wouldn't...what do I really need a tablet for anyway? I already have a laptop and a desktop and my phone is basically a shrunken down version of a tablet. In my opinion tablets are a waste of money.

P.S I suppose an argument can be made that they are a good option to check email without getting out of bed or having a scorching hot laptop on your knees. But it's just one argument against many. That's what I use it for mostly, checking email in bed and skype.

Funny you mention that, first thing I did was buy this leather wrap around, that also turns into a triangle to stand it up at a 45 degree angle, and to COVER that damn logo. It does have a little hole on the top side for the back camera though.

I have no phone except the tethered ones at the house. So the tablet makes some sense for me. We use it e.g. to make free phone calls from Europe to the US. When I call my neighbor in Florida from France, I do not even have to dial the area code - because it was set up in that area code.

We also use the tablet for navigation because we have no navigation equipment in the cars. Checking mail and the other webactivities are default.

I took a 7" Nexus7 because that is easier to haul around.
