The sun, with all those planets revolving around it and dependent on it, can still ripen a bunch of grapes as if it had nothing else in the universe to do.

Haha... Billy Connolly; the role model we all wish we had growing up....

You can't tell me you've never had this thought go through your mind at some stage in your life:

“I've always wanted to go to Switzerland to see what the army does with those wee red knives.”

We may learn how life started on the planet. We may find out how the galaxies were spawned. But, we will never find out why people park in the driveway, and drive on the parkway.

The Holy Roman Emperor Charles V of Germany (1500-58) was said to have spoken French to men, Italian to women, Spanish to God and German to horses.

All skill is in vain when an angel pees in the touchhole of your musket. GERMAN PROVERB

Reminds me of an interesting verb: Cleave

It is its own opposite. In one sense it means to stick or cling, and in another to split or divide. If you look up Cleavage you'll see not much attention is paid to the "cling" part of the definition. Most is given to the "split" part. They are missing out on half the fun so to speak.

interesting. I like the things on each side of the Cleavage to be exactly alike, not opposite...alas...I would liken the apartment conundrum to be ironic. Like civil-war....war is not civil thus it is ironical.

One thing life has taught me: if you are interested, you never have to look for new interests. They come to you. When you are genuinely interested in one thing, it will always lead to something else.
