This will bring back some memories for some of you.

I liked the part about "slow computers" and the dial-up wait times. Just goes to show how you can get used to certain things and take them for granted. My first computer I could literally turn on, go make a pot of coffee and be back as it was finally ready to go. I remember defragging once where I started the process, went to work!, and it was still working on it when I got home 9 1/2 hours later.

I hear the dial up tone on a daily basis at work when I send faxes.. one thing I hate.. fax machines!! gah theyre so slpw and old and break more often than work..
doesnt help my roof leaked last night and the fax machine basically acted as a bucket! bit of shouting later its good as new.. well..

'PC (Radio Shack Tandy 1000 SX)'

I had one of those, 640k, cga, 20 meg card drive, both floppy drives. Used accounting & inventory software on it for a vending route.

Haha, I remember the time I had a dial-up connection back in 2004-2005. It was such a PAIN in the neck. I now have a broad band connection which is still too slow to do anything. (153 Kb/s)

I remember it taking like 30 mins to d/l a 2 MB file & if you were using your main phone line & someone called, you had to start over again. 25 mins of download time down the drain We eventually got 2 lines just so or blazing 14.4 modem wouldn't get interrupted.

Even worse was "Rabbit Ears." You walk close to the TV to adjust the antenna. Picture looks great while you are standing there. You have to repeat this cycle for 15 minutes every time you change the channel: adjust antenna, step back, watch, step forward, adjust antenna, step back...

Then once you have the picture perfect and go sit down, someone comes into the room. This person stands too close to the TV, looks and says "this picture is terrible" and before you can speak, messes with the Rabbit Ears. All that stress getting it perfect for nothing.
