    Blackout

Will my computer automatically restart after power comes back after a blackout? If so, should I plug it out?

No, it will shut off and you have to restart it. You probably get a black screen with options. Use "Start normally". You may have lost your automatic log-ins.

I turned off my surge protector anyway. But what do you mean by automatic log in?

If you are talking about your DELL - then the answer is maybe.

It depends on how BIOS is set. From what I've seen, if BIOS offers to power up the computer once power is restored, that option is typically not turned on by default.

Dell desktops typically have BIOS settings that allow you to have the computer automatically come on when power is restored and they can also be set to turn the computer on at a certain time of the day.

Most of the time if you have a Quality protector it will shut off before anything else itself

there are some rated for the price range of protection 25,000-50,000 75,000-120,000 etc

If it fails they have to replace everything that was damaged

It was not a surge. The power just went out.

Automatic log-ins like e.g. to this forum. You may have to redo username and passwords.

    Hi Computer0304

When you have power back start your Computer and you may see a screen (as in screen shot) move (using up/down keys) the highlight to Start Windows Normally then press Enter on your keyboard :)
