    Question for XP converts/Vista bashers

Not surprisingly, most XP users who try Seven, like it. Some even love it as much, if not more than XP after using it for a length of time.

Sometimes, these are the very same converts who called Seven "Vista Sp2, Vista SP3 etc" since Seven was first seen. The same users who would use XP 'to the death'.

My question is, why do a large proportion of those convert users insist on continually bashing Vista? What's the point?

The most vocal usually being those who have either 'used it for 5 mins, never used it all or my personal favourite: "They heard it's crap from someone who knows about computers".

Very broadly speaking, despite the refinements between Vista and Seven, the differences between the two is fundamentally not that huge.

So what is with the continued vitriol against Vista?

It was boring then and like most boring memes, it's just passée now, yet it won't go away

I actually agree. I am an early adopter, and went to Vista in week of release. I have a very old basic PC (PCI slots - not PCI-Express or AGP !!!) with 4gb RAM and a 256mb video card.

Largely speaking Vista ran fine on my PC, the ONLY real exception to that rule before and after SP's, was the file transfer/copy speeds between drives and or folders. Very slow compared to XP.

I learned to (shouldn't have had to, I know) live with that.

To say I am thrilled with WIN7 32bit in this regard goes without saying....my PC seems noticeably quicker....

but Vista was fine for me, 7, better!

I always found the dividing line for love/hate of Vista was RAM. If you fed Vista enough RAM it was very nice. I've used Vista Ultimate x64 for over 2 years and never had a problem with it. I also have 8GB of RAM.

When I had to use a friends Vista laptop that had only 1 or 2GB in it, I wasn't that thrilled with it and would have preferred XP.

They are like the people at Apple. They bash what they can't understand or out do.

Vista is a fine OS. But we had XP for to long and people could not deal with the radical change Vista brought.

Apple saw it as a chance to try and push their failing OS on the people who would not accept that change.

Now with Win7 finally out Apple is bashing harder than ever because thay know thay are screwed. All that market share thay got will leave X10 when the macaddics get aload of 7.

Most Vista bashers used it for 3 days tops...if at all in fact.
