What colour shoes at a wedding

Am shortly to attend a family wedding at a posh(ish) hotel. I am not one of the official wedding party. Along with a grey suit and tie I intended to wear grey leather slip on shoes. I am being pressurised to wear my "funeral" black shoes to conform with the occasion. These are not as comfortable as the black, and I don't think it's important any-way. Any advice appreciated (well, it does say "off topic" OTL !!)

Where what you want as the most important thing is that you are there not what color shoes you had on. JMHO

Your grey shoes are fine. Don't listen to the others. They won't throw you out.

It depends on who is pressuring the OP to wear the black shoes.

The only people who will notice are you and the person applying the pressure. If a grey suit is acceptable.....
