    My new job. SHOCKED!

As you guys are aware i have a new job, working with people with learning difficulties helping/teaching them on the computers.
So anyway yesterday i woke up and i was eating my cheerios while looking at 7Forums like i normally do. I get a call from the Hospital saying they need me to come down because of the clients computers has stopped working.
So anyway i get there, and i start speaking you Jeff (the persons computer) i ask him whats wrong, he tells me that his grandson had come around yesterday, to "Fix" his PC, because it was slow. I power it up look in the bios, to find out that it is overclocked with the stock cooler.
This is a 70 year old man, with MS. What was his grandson thinking. mush of been to scared to overclock his computer so he did his grandsons.

I'm curious... how much was it overclocked? On my past AMD overclocks, I've gone up to a 15% OC with stock cooling and no bad consequences, even running at 100% CPU. Temps rose maybe 4-6°c over stock speeds.

Well, I guess that means you should not always trust relatives. It is better to get a real professional.

Many "real" professionals aren't to be trusted, one reason I learned how to build my own computer.

It might have been an Intel. Intels can run hotter.

It's funny, I always hear from most people and tech forums that AMD always runs hotter then Intel. Yet for me its always been the opposite like lady stated.

Either can run hotter depending on the voltages applied to maintain the overclock. Even though most Intel chips are lower wattage, TDP (Thermal Design Power) they can run VERY hot, more than a AMD with a similar clock and higher TDP.
