waterfox-anyone out there use it and love it?

I am just wondering what peoples opinions are on waterfox and if its just as secure as the normal firefox.

I have tried the portable version and it worked with all my addons, and I thought it was pretty fast.

Any suggestions? Should I install it?

    Anyone out there loving it?

I am considering chrome or waterfox.

Hi Andrew. I use Waterfox (and nothing else) over a very long time.

But use or not use of any browser is totally an users own decision. If you ask me, I would say that it works as good as any other version of firefox, or chrome, or maxthorn, or Comodo Dragon, or Opera, or anything else.

Any web browser that is not safari is good, and useable.

I agree that if you're considering Waterfox - Cyberfox is a better bet. There's AMD and Intel optimized versions available and a choice of 32bit or 64bit and it's always updated very quickly following a Firefox update - unlike Waterfox. The developer of Waterfox is sometimes very slow in releasing an up to date patched version.

Still - if you want to try Waterfox there's no harm in testing the portable version.

I've used Pale Moon, CometBird, Waterfox and Cyberfox. In my opinion Cyberfox wins. It's my default browser (no java enabled using 64bit AMD version). The advantage of using Pale Moon is that it is possible to install it without sharing the same profile as Firefox.

Personally I prefer to fully remove Firefox so the shared profile thing with Cyberfox isn't an issue.

One thing to consider is regularly backing up your profile:

MozBackup - Backup tool for Firefox and Thunderbird

Pale Moon is what I use after I finally got around to getting off my lazy arse and updating from Firefox 12, it also has a 64-bit build as well.

Never heard of cyberfox until I saw it mentioned here. Been using Waterfox for quite some time since for some reason FF at the time kept crashing due to drivers whereas WF did not.

Interestingly enough, the appearance addon I use, Glass my Fox, never quite worked properly in WF but it's working in CF. Scrolling seems smoother too which I like.
