    Give my Kangaroo a name

My dad served in the military (USN Seabees) during the Vietnam War (and long after). He had occasion to pass through Australia and picked up a few items for me and my sister. I don't remember the exact year so let's say 1971, that'll be close enough.

The items that he brought to me were a boomerang, an Australian military hat (with the brim folded up on the side) and a stuffed kangaroo. The only item that I still have is the kangaroo.

Believe it or not, I never gave the kangaroo a name. Or, if I did, I don't remember it now.

So, what should I call my 'roo?

A question for those of you in Oz...this is obviously real animal fur, is it actual kangaroo fur or something else?

One more thing, yeah, he looks a bit worse for wear, but not bad for 40+ years.

A good name for your roo could be King Kanga because you have kept the roo and treated it like royalty for 40+ years and also an homage to your username.

How about Wally for name. It looks a bit fluffy for roo fur to me, but it may have been teased out a bit. if it was made overseas, i.e. china, it would probably be cat or dog fur. Are you sure it is real fur?

I'm reasonably sure. The inside of the ear looks like leather and where the fur is missing it looks like skin. No signs of glue or woven fabric.

Too fluffy to be roo fur, eh? Hmm...could be rabbit fur, then.

I won't call him Skippy , and as everyone knows us 'Muricans don't understand irony I won't call him Flipper or Lassie, either.

Could be rabbit.....they run rife in some areas and are designated pests for culling.
