hey ICit2lol, something else to look for is other electrical or electronic devices near or around your audio equipment that may create noise. those cheap little power adapters that you plug in the wall etc. it might be a long shot but always worth a try. have you had a chance to try the amp by itself to see what happens. also test it at a different location. its possible to have some else around it create interference. just some more thoughts.

    have a good day.

Right mate well as a matter of fact I have those anti pest devices around the room I shall switch them off to see if there is any noticeable change. I do have a cordless phone charger in there too and maybe the aquarium gear may have an effect?

hey all, oh yeah fluorescent light is a major noise cause, didn't even think of that cause my fish tank is incandescent. also dimmers and ceiling fan controls are also bad noise problems. thanks Lady Fitzgerald. I am proof that the obvious is always overlooked. I am old, can I use that as an excuse. I guess just about any electrical device can create noise as in my house we have all kinds of useless crap plugged into outlets. never really thought about it until there is nowhere left to plug in something else.

hey everybody, this was an interesting thread as it started about capacitors and evolved into the past of old electronics and here we are now. perhaps a pickup on a new old school electronics thread in the chill out room. I've always wonder why they only last a short time perhaps that could be a new thread. perhaps we miss the days of old past technology I know that I sure do. it has been very knowledgeable and interesting. perhaps a new topic and thread. have a good day.
