Oh yes, Windows 2000 is amazing! It's definitely my number 2 favorite. I still have an old Gateway running Windows 2000, and my old installation CDs for it.

I am hoping Windows 9 is going to be my favorite but it's a few months before the preview yet.

Windows 2000 is the first OS I really tinkered around with and cut my teeth on(although I have used almost every one of them). XP was great for the hardware that was out at the time, but Windows 7 is hands down my favorite.

I'm also hoping Windows 9 is going to be the true successor to 7.......we'll see!

Well, same as you. Win7 and previously XP and others have already stated why

Hey Boss z3r010 you call us Luddites but this is the best forum on the web and you own it and know it :) I like Windows 7 and also Windows 8.1.1 as I have that on 2 of my machines. I also have a soft spot for Nt4 SP4 onwards and also Windows 2000 surely one of the best unless you want to play the Sims as it quit for no reason (long time ago).
Played alot of Quake on NT4 and Windows 2000 at home and at work. Happy days

Windows NT 4.0 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Probably you were a little young to care in those days. NT 4 was an OS that did what you told it not what it thought you wanted. No Plug and Play (or Pray) except as an afterthought on the CD. When it broke it was well and truely broken and you had to wipe and reinstall.
