I used to do that at work Steve, (When I worked) Light a smoke and set it down, never take a puff but felt better if it was there.

I still reach down for my tobacco can out of habit, so I know a lot of my routine was the psychological habit.

I was surprised to some extent to even hear about this thread since not having been around lately. Back in 2012 when someone on another site posted something on the subject I had to edit that and it got me a little more curious about things until I ran into someone else making the move to quit 4 packs a day! Over the next several months time we both managed to say "BYE BYE" to all tobacco products once and for all!

I know how easy it is to fall behind and back into it having actually quit once for about 8 months cold turkey. This time however menthol smoke has a new opponent in menthol vapor! And apparently that move was just in time as the state decided to add another $1.50 to the cig tax and all pharmacies could no longer carry any products state wide! Gee look at all that $$$ saved in now 23 months of vaping and 1 1/2yrs. completely smoke free. That old nasty habit broken for good! And guess what? 0% nicotine shortly after upgrading from prefilled see you coming to a then new independent vendor who makes his own ejuice and now one of the top 5 US vendors! He had been the one who quit the 4 pack a day habit.

Very good story, night hawk. I hope to be one of you eventually. But, I am pretty certain I wouldn't like Vaping incense.

It still takes a bit to get used to. It's a totally different experience and one thing I can easily say is that you won't even notice if nicotine is present or not until you have vaped for some time and find with nic warmer vape and less flavor of the flavoring!

The real draw to tobacco is the memory of tobacco flavor over nicotine itself. Once you have vaped for some time whether tobacco or other flavors the memory of that experience will change how smoke feels to you. You will no longer smell like an ash tray or feel any tightness and irratation in the chest and passageways but refreshed at times! Vape'n'Coffee anyone?!

Another thing to note is the research funded for a private study on contaminants if any was seen to by an organization looking at Tobacco Harm Reduction as their main goal and even getting petitions going to present to law makers and the FDA. That's one of the active groups in that area. The result at one medical university was a 22 page Tech report indicating no pollutants or long term side effects found. Compare that to over 4,000 chemical additives, 68 known carcinogens, and a whole lot of other crud in smoke!

Once I quit another discovery of course was the costs! Instead of $300 a month based on $100 approx per carton as I was gradually reducing how much I smoked at one time 3 packs daily back in the 70s working long hours with long break during those old yes you can days before public bans came about I dropped in recent year to under a pack and then by the time I was updating hardwares under a half pack!

Try only 3 packs a week before the last came. Since I didn't need to build a new case still running 7 I ended up with $$$ to spend and still far less on vaping. The costs on both the obvious change of product lines and health overall a great investment!
