Joan, did you check the options - once you have the enabled line it's not only BT that can offer the fibre to cabinet - Talk Talk, EE, Sky and probably a few of the smaller ISPs can offer it, Openreach are still called in to do the physical work but quite often the deals are better from other isp's than BT

I stuck with BT, our exchange is wholly owned by BT so even if I went with someone else if things go wrong you've got to go through them then they have to go through BT and as we've been with them a good while we've always had good service and I always negotiate a deal. OK I know I could get it cheaper but just how good are the others especially when things go wrong.

You won't get Virgin round here.

Yes you are in the wilds down there. The interesting thing is that the cable company that Virgin took over in our area was based in South Wales.

I'm on that deal and I've just copy/pasted this from the confirmation email.

Your broadband speed
We estimate your download speed will be between 39Mb and 40Mb.
We estimate your upload speed will be between 9Mb and 10Mb.

The lowest speed you can expect from your BT Infinity will be 35Mb.

Compare that to what I get now with a download of just over 3 and an upload of 0.38 I'll be going rocket speed.

John's looking forward to it especially when he has all those tax returns etc. to download and upload.

Today I finally managed to confirm my internship for the end of this year! I'll be spending half a year in Brussels speaking French and doing fancy stuff as a Junior Management Consultant in one of the biggest companies out there! Really stoked about it, especially since I'll be working closely...
