I've just had a call from a very nice foreign lady telling me my licence and ID where running out. After asking her again who she was I told her I knew it was a scam, she was most upset telling me it wasn't and she could prove who she was.

She wanted me to open a Google page but I told her I couldn't I didn't know how, a bit more banter and I was supposed to look at my keyboard and see the ctrl key, "oh yes I've got 2 of them" the conversation then moved to windows so I told her "yes I'm looking out the window" her reply was the Windows computer I was using, I asked her what made her think I was using a Windows computer.

She wanted to know what I was using, I told her she should know she had the licence, by then I got fed up as I had things to do so I told her to give up she wouldn't win or be able to get control of my machine and I put the phone down.

It's been awhile since I had one of these calls so I expect they are going the rounds again.

It was fun, I expect I'll get a few more now they seem to be doing the rounds again, mind you it's the licence this time rather than me sending out virus's.

Nice one Joan. I had a much more sinister one about my bank card last week. It's easy to see how you could fall for these if you were not aware of them.

I had one from the usual "This is Windows calling & you have a virus problem with your computer". I replied that I did not & that he was running a scam & he should be arrested. Hearing that he broke of into the rudest diatribe of swearing using all the abusive terms I have occasionally heard before. During that I just hung up the phone.
