I find with the Logitech kit I use the battery life is good, keyboards normally last from 12 to 18 months on Alkaline Hi-power (Bunny ) Batteries. Mice are a shorter life but not a major issue for me

I've never used a trackball Nigel. What are the advantages?

That's one of the reasons I use rechargeable batteries for everything and the Eneloop type batteries hold their charge for a long time if they are not used a lot. My TV remote battery lasts several years between charges.

I don't mind wired keyboards, since I'm not moving them, but wired mice drive my crazy! The darn cord kept getting caught on my desk! I'm not a very neat person, so there will be lots of papers and books on my desk, the last thing I need to worry about is my mouse cord getting stuck.

Keith, I use the trackball for when I'm not actually sat at my desk - as it doesn't need any room to move about I can place it on the arm of the sofa, or even on my Knee It has all the functionality of a standard design mouse, the only disadvantage is that it is more fussy about clean fingers, as you touch the ball it can have issues with any grease on your fingertips, (actually its your thumb ), but you get used to it

Get some Panasonic Eneloop rechargeables, they last forever and a heck of a lot cheaper then buying batteries all the time.

I've got a load of those batteries plus charger, I can't remember who but it was someone on here several years ago who told me about them, I think they're great.

Don't need them for wireless keyboard or mice though mine are all wired, even use my old Microsoft Optical Wheel mouse on this Notebook sitting here on the couch.
