Microsoft is finally doing something about bloatware.
I do like that idea. Microsoft is addressing one big problem consumers have.
I can see companies like H.P., Acer ect. screaming and hollering. Those types of bloatware are their cash cow.
I don't see acer, but HP, Dell, Samsung, Lenovo, Maingear, and MSI can't be screaming too loud if they allowed their machines to be placed in MS's signature series. $ $ $ $!
Desktop Computers and Touchscreen All-In-Ones PC - Microsoft Store
Ahh...Found Acer, Toshiba, Razorblade, and Asus in Laptops.
Here's the list, it'll take a few years, but maybe it'll start a trend:
My thought are that all those companies that you listed that make money off all the bloatware are not going to like loosing all that money when not using bloatware.
All those companies get paid to add bloatware.
Nobody is going to lose any money...the programs will be made available either on disk or at the support site of the manufacturer...
They probably will be offered in other fashions but the pc manufactures won't be getting paid because it wasn't bundled in their package.
When a company like H.P. bundles a trial offer of Norton with the sale of their pc. They get paid by Norton.
If Norton trial offer is not on that pc when it's sold Norton does not pay H.P.
Why is that so hard to understand.
Every little goodie that come with a computer when you buy it (we call bloatware) some company is paying the manufacture of the computer to put it their. If it comes without bloatware the payments are not made.
Just using H.P. as a example.
When the payments stop coming in for installing bloatware on H.P. computer H.P. will just raise the price of the computer to compensate the loss of income.
H.P. doesn't add bloatware to their computers to make friends, they do it to make money.
So no one misunderstands me; I'm dead against bloatware of any kind.
I was just trying to explain why it's their. To make money.
Why the manufactures of PC will just raise the prices of their PC's to compensate that income loss. (money)
