    forum favicon


    the forum favicon changed to a generic forum icon in my bookmarks, is it just me?

    Mine hasn't but I may have overwriten it when I did the forum upgrade yesterday.

    Everytime I copy the new file over it shows in the directory as the old one I will delete the favicon now leave it a few hours then replace it and see if that cures it.

    Ah yeah, that's the trick. 744 or 755 would still let him have write access to it .

    This happens to me as well. When I run faviconizer it helps keep some of the icons in place but some still will not show up or will only show up for a limited amount of time. This is one of my pet peeves about
    Windows 7 and I'am determined to find a perminate fix for it because it drives me insane!

    Here is a link for faviconizer which is a small utility for finding your favicons and it helps to keep them in place also.

    If you find an actual fix or setting that makes the favicons work let me know. This is the one thing about Windows 7 that makes it not as good as Vista to me. I had no such favicon issues in Vista at all I just know it's some lame security setting causing this but I have turned them all off to no avail.
