Here's a compilation of the last three days.....

Most mornings start out now with only the chicks as the parents have already left by Sunrise to hunt.

Back after catching a rabbit and preparing it by removing the fur.

Left after feeding to search for more food.

I've noticed the one foreground chick has started to wander the nest and has learned to feed itself. While one parent was keeping an "eagle eye" on something flying around the perimeter of the nesting site.

Parent left for more hunting and the chick checking out the boarders of the nest, its a long way down.

They are really growing very fast. I wonder whether they already pick in the fish by themselves. Looks like all the supplies are gone.

Yes they are.

That chick in my last two pix's looks like its ready to eat on its own, and I have seen it pick at several deposits. In my last post do you see in the third pix down where the rabbit is laying? In the next pix (4th down) the rabbit is covered with nesting material, but the chick is working the rabbit carcass underneath.

I wish I could save the action video and post it here, there is probably a way, but I haven't found it yet. In the fifth pix the chick is done for awhile and took a look over the side of the nest to see how far she could go but thought, maybe I shouldn't.

That's what I mean, I can leave stills of interesting moments, but it's better if one watches for awhile to see the interaction of the family.

The supplies/groceries are a feast or famine situation, from what I've seen there's food underneath some of the bedding for the nest, I wouldn't munch on it, but eagles are known to eat carrion.

This is a fresh kill about an hour ago, 4pm edt:

I made a first attempt for a brief capture. Unfortunately there was not a lot of action at that moment. I will try to attach the zip. See whether you can play it. I think I can do better but that is only a first attempt.

Now the chicks are fed and need a snooze. But look at the size of their feet.
