Hollywood - How about some DECENT NEW movies

    Hi there

What's up with Hollywood --there's almost NOTHING decent appearing now or on the Horizon -- nothing New - but just a few remakes or SEQUELS. C'mon -- somebody must be able to write something NEW for a decent movie.

Even on the Torrents there's nothing worth "Pirating" !!!!!!!!.

The only TWO things that look remotely interesting are the New James Bond film to appear around September and the recently released INSURGENT (2nd in Virginia Roth's Divergent trilogy).

I'm just about to CANCEL my SKY MOVIES subscription -- seems a total waste of money now.

At least it's a cure for Piracy --there's nothing worth downloading from the Torrents --- maybe Hollywood should have thought of this solution before !!!!!!

The last decent thing I watched on TV apart from the 3rd series of House of Cards was an ISRAELI series (in Hebrew with English subtitles) called HOSTAGES which was shown on BBC 4 over a few Saturday nights - a good production BTW if you get a chance to see it and the NETFLIX series BOSCH about the LA detective from the Harry Bosch novels by Michael Connelly.

At least I've discovered READING again - my Kindle is getting overloaded at the moment !!!!!.

I'm itching to get a 4K TV but the lack of decent content seems to make this potential purchase a total waste of money too.

    Cheers

Same thing is happening with video games. They are running out of ideas.

At the present time I watch Hulu Free. There several T.V. shows that I like and a few movies. Some of them are old but new to me.
My favorite T.V. show is Blacklist.
The paid for version of Hulu would probably have newer things. I don't know for sure because I have never used the paid version.

Jimbo I think it worth a little time and check it out if you haven't already.
It might fill in the gaps between new movies coming from the left coast.

For really good movies, you should look beyond hollywood. Independient and international productions have often many more good titles than "normal" movies that have more marketing and special effects than quality.

Yeah, in the same line, since a few years ago, it's basically a few game concepts with improved graphics and barely no other improvement. I've begining looking at the open source projects and small, independient developers for new games to burn my time.

I don't watch many movies at all these days unless it's with my kids, there's just nothing that catches my eye. I've been indulging in some of the great TV series that have been landing on our screens over the last few years. I'd highly recommend the following:

    The Shield
    Breaking Bad
    Sons of Anarchy
    Game of Thrones
    Justified
    Homeland
    The Walking Dead
    True Detective
    Better Call Saul
    24

There's hundreds of hours viewing there that will give much more enjoyment than the same amount of movie time.

And yet some developers dont take time to refurbish the game that had the best storyline. They listen to themselves not to their customers most of the time

    Hi folks

Yes most of those series have been good - but I've seen a lot of them -- my main complaint is there's NOTHING new that even remotely takes my fancy at the moment.

HULU is a bit difficult to get properly outside the US -- somehow they are catching some VPN's --Netflix work OK though - don't bother with UK or AUS versions -- US is the best one - but even Netflix doesn't have a lot on -- is it worth paying for say one or two good series a season .

Things like Turner Classic movies are fine but did Hollywood suddenly stop around 1975 !!!!.

To any aspiring youngster - Try and write something NEW whether for TV / Cinema --- you'll make a FORTUNE. !!! There's a huge demand for this.

At least spring / summer is on the way - with the lighter evenings maybe taking the Dog for a long walk and visiting the local Hostelries will be a much better way of passing the evening than glued to "The Idiot Box" -- I think in the UK it's called "The Goggle Box".

    Cheers
