Dropped Windows from my main System.

I have stopped Running Windows as my primary system. I am now Running Debian 8. https://www.debian.org/ This is a Linux distribution which is free software. I wonder how many of you have tried Linux in one way or another.

I personally like Mint it's based on Debian and when Im bored I fire up Kali Linux and bust into my router's, Kali is also based off of Debian, I always run them in VMware looking at your specks you could install either a free or paid version of virtual machine software on Linux and run any version of a Windows OS

I ran Ubuntu as a secondary boot with Windows 7 for about a year until the hard drive it was on crashed. I liked it, but this was ubuntu 9. They changed it considerably with version 10, when I went to try to reinstall it and I saw the version 10 update, I hated it and stopped.

I wish there was a way of installing some kind of Linux into my old Mac G4's and G5's, I have a G5 titanium tower, dual processors, four gigs of RAM, cinematic display. it is an excellent computer but there is just no software to run on it. That's what I hate about Apple, they plan their own obsolescence. There are no reasons to kill all those old Motorola PowerPCs! Even the G3s still run good. But there is absolutely no software or operating systems that are compatible with today's software needs that will run in any of those. Ironically, my best Windows machine was made in two-thousand and five and used to have windows XP media center, it runs Windows 8 now though, it is an AMD 4200+, on a proprietary HP motherboard. And it is smooth and hardly ever crashes. If I can run the most modern software on that machine, I should be able to do it on the titanium tower which is much faster and has more RAM.

It is the same with Ubuntu, I thought it was a great operating system when it was version nine, but then I ran an update version 10, version 11, version 12, and before it was even finished updating the whole interface completely changed to this thing where I couldn't find any of The important functions of the operating system. It was all removed! And when I finally found the program area, it was like the windows eight store with a bunch of crappy programs that cost a lot of money just to even try. I don't like these operating systems that are built to look like some kind of market. I want to buy my own software; I want to install my own software from my own sources.

I can handle Apple's iOS operating system, but even there I jailbreak so I am not bound to using iTunes or the App Store, I can install any program or app that I want and make it run as root if I want to. I use my Apple iDevices as an intermediary between my windows and apple machines. In fact I am doing something on my Windows PC right now directly through my iPhone. I might try some other versions of linux, but I say to hell with it I'll just keep the version of iOS I have in my phone, I'll never update it, I'll just keep it the way that it is so I can keep using it the way that I want to.

One thing I refuse to do is update when I am ordered to do so. Basically after I install my operating systems, I lock it down and allow no changes until the system crashes, that's usually about seven or eight years per machine- actually my main computer is going on 10 years, Windows 7 with absolutely no updates at all.
