Not a good ramen story eh?

Seriously though, after living in Japan for a while though I can honestly say they have the healthiest diet on the world.

Provided you go easy on the ramen

Well I've never had what you would call a healthy diet but so far it hasn't done me any harm

I don't eat breakfast or have lunch and my main meal, well my only meal of the day, will depend on what my husband decides he wants to eat, and he's fussy and a diabetic and doesn't like meat, apart from chicken.

I've learnt over the years that when you have no income to speak of you feed the kids and husband before yourself.

There is nothing wrong with a good bowl of Ramen...

Cheap, delicious, and not detrimental to your health
Asides from the ton of sodium
Seriously though, having them once in a while won't kill you, but I learned about 15 years ago that you can't survive on them. I was out of work, so basically living on ramen noodles, coffee, water, and some bread here and there..... I was on unemployment, yet my pride(yeah, I know) wouldn't let me apply for food stamps, or beg the relatives for help.

End result...after a couple months of this, I was in rough shape...headaches all the time, sleeping 12+ hours a day. A girl I knew came back to town, called and wanted to go on a hike, and I said, "Sure!"
The aforementioned pride took a hit that day, because I couldn't keep up with her! She actually asked me what was wrong with me, because always before I had been the one to slow myself down to her pace, as she was a very slightly built girl....so after some prodding, I eventually spilled my guts.

After describing how I had been feeling, she immediately knew what was wrong with me, as it had happened to her before....I was anemic. So first, she took me out to eat, over my protestations......a big medium-rare steak and potatoes and baby carrots...mmmmm. Then she bought me a bottle of multivitamins, and insisted I come over to eat twice a week until I was in better financial straits.

After a couple weeks, I started to feel more like my old self....and to this day, since that summer, I have never eaten ramen noodles again.
    Wow thats some story Rob

    Super bowl food!

Chicken wings, notchos, all kinds of dips, chips and lots of beer while watching the Super Bowl on a 56" 1080i widescreen with Bose surround sound 321 system.
