Filing a complaint about Diginal River Inc?

I apologize if this is the wrong section to post something like this, but it was the only one I could see that seemed appropriate. As helpful as people have been with my questions about windows seven, maybe I can have some help with this. On October 24th I took advantage of that windows seven student discount thing thinking it was a good deal. My internet connection is slow and doing the whole ISO thing seemed like a lot of work, so I wanted to play it safe and order the disc along with it. I had read several post from people on here a couple days about receiving emails saying their discs had been shipped. It was nearly a week later so I sent an email asking about the status of mine. I received what was probably a copy and pasted thing from somewhere on their website telling me the arrival time for your order is 7-14 days and to contact them if it is not here by then. Ok, thats nice, but I wasn't asking about arrival time, I asked about shipping and if my item had shipped yet. Again I get the same email signed by a different person. This continued on for about 4 emails no matter how many time I clarified it, so on the 5th email I had to get a little nasty and type in capital letters. about how I was asking for SHIPPING! and how it had to ship in order for it to arrive in the 7-14 days I've gotten told about 4 times then. I get another email saying my disc had been shipped on October 24th and if it wasn't there in 7-14 days to contact them. Now there are two things wrong with that:

    1. The 24th was the SAME day I ordered it, which sounded kind of ridiculous to me, as I order many things online and they NEVER ship the same day I order them.

    2. It says on their website things ordered on Saturday or Sunday will be shipped the following Monday, the 24th was a Saturday.

I stated both of those things in my next email and again got the same message emailed back to me. Keep in mind at this point all my emails are being signed by a different person, and as to if they're actually getting read fully is debatable. So I decided to wait the 7-14 days out. On November 7th it was the 14th day, no disc yet. I emailed them again and told them I was told that my disc supposedly shipped on October 24th and to contact you if it was not here in 7-14 days, today is the 14th day and it was not here. I get an email AGAIN stating what day I ordered it, when it was shipped and that it should be here on November 12th. Finally! my damn disc will be here, this crisis should be over now right? Nope! Last night I get an email saying my disc has been shipped. WTF?! You've been telling me in like 12 emails now that it was shipped on the On October 24th! So I emailed them this morning, I got pretty nasty again and told them how I was told SEVERAL times that it had shipped on October 24th and was also told that it should be on here November 12th! The next email I get just says that it was shipped yesterday and should be here on November 24th. Ok, I'm fed up with this! I thought I was getting a good deal by getting it for really cheap, but I would had gladly payed over a 100 bucks for this damned thing at a store if I knew I was gona have to deal with this and wait a WHOLE MONTH after I ordered the thing assuming I wasn't lied too again this time.

I can't file a complaint through the Better BusinessBureau because they won't do anything unless it involved me loosing money in some way. Does anyone know of some other group or agency I can report this too, or is there really anything I can do about it?

Is this where you've been to post your complaint?
Digital River is the global leader in e-commerce solutions for software and consumer technology.

You might also think about writing a letter to Corporate and include all numbers on invoice and exchanged emails.

I haven't actually been to any of their sites yet to post a complaint, its all been through their emails with the student discount thing. I did manage to find a 1-800 number on another site that seemed to be conveniently missing from the help page through the windows seven student discount customer service page. I'm just wondering if complaining to them directly would actually do me any good seeing as how just doing it through the emails on customer service is doing is getting me a lot of "help".

I would consider phoning Microsoft and telling them the whole story as calmly as possible then asking them did they realize the incompetence of one of the companies Microsoft have contracted to represent them , and then ask if they are prepared to do anything about it for you and offer any compensation

calm quiet and reasonable may well get you a result, tel:08002812211

Ya I might just do that, I understand if things get delayed by a few days from bad weather or if the plane it was on crashed or something. But a disc shouldn't take an entire MONTH by normal mail to get here. I'm not sure where they're shipped from, but still. I mean my girl friend lives in NC right now and I live in OR, practically opposite ends of the country. Sometimes we send things in the mail and it only takes 2-3 days at the MOST to get there. So unless they're coming from the other end of the planet it shouldn't be taking this long.

Well, my first contact with Digital Rivers sponsoring and happily taking my money for a fraudulant program, left a dirty taste in my mouth.
    I lost a little over $74.

Repeated contacts with 'support' said they couldn't get in touch with the vendor, so my money was never refunded. I couldn't directly communicate with the Rogue software vendor.

I will never do any downloads with Digital Rivers as a sponsor again. I've learned a lesson.

Well I just want my damn disc lol I mean theres people that ordered there's a whole day before or after I did and already got them days ago, and I have to wait a whole month? I'll see about calling Microsoft tomorrow, but I think I'm still gona write a letter to Digital River either way, I don't put up with crappy customer service like that. I ended up getting my Vista disc for free because of the crap they put me through last spring after Vista Service Pack 1 destroyed my lap top and they kept trying to recommend things that didn't work

arrival time is 7-14 business days. If you do not receive the Backup DVD
within that time frame, please contact us.

We apologize for the inconvinience regarding your issue. This will be
ship through USPS.Please be patience waiting for your product.
Please be patient? Is that all they can say after this? Yep this will be the last time ever that digital river gets any money from me. Never again!

Assuming you copied and pasted directly from the Email, they cannot even use correct English Grammar.

    *fail*

Anyways, I have heard nothing but negatives about Digital River so far. Lucky me that I bought TechNet and so got mine a month early and unlimited DLs.
No tech support though, but then again...

    So yeah, good luck.
I strongly recommend letting MS know about the quality of Digital River. And let them know that you will never be purchasing from them [Digital River] again due to this. It shames MS to use a company like that.
