I do it a lot more since I been hangin' 'round this place. I mess around with stuff a lot more. Getting ready to do it all again here soon. On the bright side, I'm getting faster at it. :)

I generally wipe once a year - and that is with my extensive beta testing.
It comes down to performance issues (when I notice they exist) as well as time - Even if I were to build an image from scratch, and store it elsewhere, I'd need a pretty hefty HD to store it, and so much software gets updated on a monthly basis that it is impossible to keep up anymore.
With W7 beta testing, though, it was different - I know I myself formatted at least 6 times - and that is completely out of character for me....
I fall into the only when it's sluggish or buggy category.
Before 7, I used to do it often, like every month, because Windows would just generally slow down, especially XP. Vista not so much, as unlike many, I never had an issue with it, and I could go maybe 3-4 months without formatting, but now with 7 I feel no desire to do so. Everything's just as speedy now as it was 2 months ago.
Never. Beat that.
