Young male lions that aren't part of a pride yet will often hang out together. That group in Bill's photo group was taken from National Geographic; I doubt they would allow photo shopping. If you do an image search for male lions, you will find many photos where several male lions are together.

Keep in mind that the real King of Beasts are actually the Queens, the lionesses. They rule the pride, do pretty much all the hunting, and most of the child rearing. Ole Leo's primary purpose is to be a sperm donor.
