42" Vizio LED TV with water damage

A friend at work wanted to know if I wanted this TV to see if I can fix it. Should I try or just tell him to recycle it? Here is a picture of the display.

It would help the experts if you explained exactly what you meant by water damage, just what happened to it ?

His son thought is was a good idea to spray it with his water gun. I haven't seen the TV in person.

    Hi,
After water hit it I would of left it to dry for at least a week before powering it up.

I don't know if he did or not. I'll ask.

Update: It was on when it happened and it's been off for a few weeks but I don't think he shut if off right away.

Without a service manual for something that complicated, you really are working in the dark. Tell him to recycle it.

I am a TV tech. It needs a new panel, recycle it. Will cost less to get a new one. A Guy
