i have a fealing that for the first time in recent history the USA could win the world cup, that is unless they muck up big time .

I reckon Germany and maybe Brazil will go out in the quarters leaving it to teams like Portugal and the USA to win.

The problem for the US may be that in this match they are expected to win this is often a problem where sides have been doing better than expected. :)
