Use WPA2 security and set a strong password.... You do this through your router setup....

Don't forget to set a strong password also for your router's setup. Some routers, for example my Belkin, let you see what password / key your WiFi is using simple by clicking Show the key or uncecking Obscure PSK or something similar.

This means whoever can enter the routers setup can see the password / key used and is then able to use your network.

I have just put WPA2 on my Linksys WAG160N. I got help from them..live chat..they helped me sort out some problems..they were really good. I used WEP before but was sure that the guy next door but one was hacking me. Change your router user name and log on password aswell. I now have changed my connection name to hackmeifucan! I have also written down ALL the router settings so if I ever have to 'reset' I don't have to bother Linksys or my IP provider.
