Well I saw a link for Vistax64 while I was in the Newsgroups and as I'd got a new machine with Vista installed a couple of months before decided to have a look and see if I could learn more about it.
Liked the look of the place and kept returning then when the Windows 7 forum was started I thought I'd join and see if I could carry on learning ready for when I got the new OS.
The way the forum is run and the people who run it make the place the only place to be if you need help or just somewhere to hang out for a while.
I belong to several forums but the majority are more geared to just the technical side of things and sorting out problems whereas here as well as getting your problems solved, which is done without making you feel a fool for asking, you can enjoy some good company and have a laugh and joke about things
In other words it has more the feeling of a big happy family where everyone is welcome regardless of their ability. | My System Specs |

I found SevenForums by accident, added it to favorites and after reading on here i found it very informative so i registered, told my brother about it, he registered. We both are here everyday off and on all day (retired) and that gives away my age. I've learned enough to be dangerous but love helping when i can.

I first found Vistax64, but I forget exactly how. I think I was looking for a tutorial to restore QuickLaunch, but I may be crazy. This was back in... December 2008. Around January I saw SF, and registered to ask about how the compatibility between Vista and Seven would be. This was Pre-Beta I believe, or a little bit after the beta came out. A few months later I decided to try out the Beta and installed it. I was instantly addicted, and since then Seven forums has sucked me in. I don't spend as much time as I should over on VF, but I know Seven so much better now that I can't troubleshoot Vista as good as I feel I need to when helping over there. So now I am mostly over here on SF, and plan to stay for quite a while.
I have learned so much here, though I don't know if I can truly call myself a Guru. One day maybe! I got quite a while to earn it, as I am only 17

I found Vistax64.com when I first got Vista in Dec 07 and I did not like VF at first, as I wasn't aware that the Newsgroups weren't a part of VF and all I ran across was trolls in the Newsgroups, so I left for a little while then returned; in June 08 he started SF and in October 08 I got my hands on my first 'copy' of 6801 and I was hooked. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number * BFK Customs * OS W 7 64-bit Ultimate CPU Intel Q9550 Yorkfield Motherboard ASUS P5Q Pro Memory 8GB Dominator 8500C5D Graphics Card ATI : XFX 5870 Sound Card Realtek HD Audio 7-1 Monitor(s) Displays 1x 47" LCD HDMI & 3x 26" LCD HDMI Screen Resolution 1920x1080P & 1920x1200 Keyboard Microsoft 500 Mouse Razer Diamondback 3G PSU Corsair 620HX Case Cooler Master RC-690 Cooling Tuniq Tower 120, 2x 140mm and 3x 120mm case fans Hard Drives 1x 80GB Intel X25-M G2 SSD : 1x 500GB & 1x 640GB WD Caviar Black(s) Internet Speed 14 Mb/s Other Info 1x Koutech 3Gb/s SATA HDD Hot Swap Rack |
