The beauty of this place is, that while you are learning, you can always still kick back and contribute in other ways. It doesn't always have to be of a technical nature.

I have been using various beta versions and then RC since early January. Found the Seven Forums when googling answer to a very annoying issue with disappearing Start Menu programs. That time, the answer was found not here but in Microsoft TechNet forums. Anyway, I stayed because of the vaste amount of information I found.

I was later very satisfied when I could share the solution here (All Programs is gone.. Again).

I came here after a new computer build in July with Windows 7 RC1 and was having a problem with high random access speeds on my new box and a Seagate 7200.12 hard drive. (was seeing around 25-40ms). After discussing it with many here and doing everything imaginable..I simply put the 7200.12 in another machine at home and got a Western Digital Caviar black and was getting the 13ms speeds I was expecting.

I came to windows 7 via Google search. I was having problems viewing other pcs on my network. Everyone was so friendly and was willing to help me out as much as they could. I have learned so much about win 7 and thankful for it.

Special thanks to Ken(georgy) for helping me get used to the forum and troubleshooting well everything!

I came because I needed help with an explorer.exe stability issue, and then decided to stay because everyone here was friendly, and I thought I might be able to contribute.
