    Hello dmex.

Why does it say "no longer" I thought it was never included; could this mean MS has a flash (Silverlight) for 64-bit IE?

Flash.ocx was never built or used by Microsoft but it was originally included with XP then it was removed with XP-SP1, It was never included with 64bit builds of XP and applications trying to call the Control would fail... I guess the Application Shim framework on 64bit detects the component and any application trying to use it when its not installed and just shows the dialogue untill Flash gets installed
