Not all impressed with clearwire
A little over a year ago disgusted with my then current ISP I decide to take over a Clearwire wireless internet account. You can do that for someone so they don't eat the contract. It was a 1.5/256 account.
You have to get a new modem, you can't just use an existing account's modem. Whatever, but wouldn't it save the isp's trouble - oh nevermind. Moving right along the new modem arrives in a timely manner. Within a month it would clunk out at 3 bars, they had to replace it. Seems to be a sensitive thing, the power adaptor does not like surge protectors either. Once your account was up and running they clocked it down on me to 768, nice. But! - If you renew for an additional year you can bump it back up, too cool.
They use g-mail, n/p, I like g-mail & the multiple calendar editing. You get 3 addresses. Decent help on how to set up live - mail. Nowhere, and I mean no where on your account log on page can you get details about when your contract will expire. Lost the old e-mail or paperwork? You have to call in to confirm that info. If you miss the window your up for another year no questions asked. If you decide to cancel your bound to the remaining contract price. They do make that "clear", pun intended. Still want to cancel? - You have to make sure you ship their modem back (if under the rental) and in their possesion before the expiration date.
