I really didn't...I just read so many books (to take my mind off the miserable time I had in school) that all this stuff just kind of sunk in.

I drove my English teacher nuts in high school. He would give us incorrectly constructed sentences, and ask us to correct them. I could always fix them, but I could never explain why I was right....

The only think I remember from English class is being able to spell quite well, that's probably why it drives me up the wall to see the bad spelling that gets into the forum, as for the other well I left when I was 15 had to get a job according to my parents so there you are
