    Thank You

So this is probably NOT the place to put this; however, since it has to do with the problems I had with install.....this is where I put it. I want to thank everyone for all their posts here as they saved my sanity and allowed me to finally get my install UNSTALLED! See I am not technically gifted as those of you here. I know just enough to get myself into trouble but not enough to save myself! But thank goodness I do know how to read and I found my way here! There is a huge amount of knowledge and sharing folks here!

My problem was I am running a Dell that had a faulty Vista install and finally got fed up enough to do the upgrade to 7. However I ran into trouble in that the install would always stall and fail to get to the final set up screen.

Now it is time to unveil my stupid mistake, just incase any other newbie is having similar issues. I had made sure that I had unplugged all unnecessary peripherals leaving only mouse and keyboard... but of course no final install. In watching the attempt to do the final boot I noted some odd flicker on the screen and was thinking a video problem (using a 32" Samsung TV for monitor) and found a post here that was similar to my issue and they tried a new monitor and things went fine for them... then the thought occurred to me ... uh did you remember to disconnect the second monitor from the video card? (Running a 52" Samsung for my presentations) Well lo and behold it was still plugged in !!

Unplug - Reboot - WALA! So I will be happy to unveil my lack of experience in the hopes it will help someone else!

Thank you again for such a wonderful site. I have no doubt I will become a frequent lurker!

Your problem is one of many that prompted us to create the Questions List

Questions to use for help with Installation Issues

Sometimes we were having to ask one or two questions at a time to dig out info that would lead to solving the problem.

When I first came to SevenForums I just read & read to adsorb knowledge.

Now it is gratifying to know the knowledge shared here is helping so many

Who'd think something so small would cause so much trouble. Good luck!
