My Aunt died today of cancer

I know this is off topic. I just wanted to see if anyone else lost a close family member due to cancer. I actually am happy that she did not suffer long. Of course I am sad about her loss. I learned of her passing from my mother. She and my Uncle were married for 43 years. You have to be thankful for the time you have and whom you share that time with. I am not seeking sorrow or sympathy. I just wanted to share my thoughts on how special life is. Fortunately my immediate family was able to meet her when she was not ill and my Aunt was able to see and meet my children and wife. I would just ask those that have not taken time to contact family to do so while there is time left. You never know what can happen.

Techymike, truly sorry to hear. I lost my wife back in 1986 to lung cancer. Hope all are doing okay; it is always sad to lose a family member.

Christmas time 2 and 3 years ago, I lost both my folks to cancer. We were a close family and they will be with me always. Because you took the time to post, I can tell you, too, were close, she will be with you always, too. I can just say that I am sorry, and I know how it feels.

Sorry for your loss. This will be a hard transitional time for your family, as death always is. The thing to remember the most is to show as much compassion as you can. Tempers may flare at times but you have to roll with it. I have had some tragic times in my life, my nephew of age 5 died of cancer a few years ago , and that was followed up by my father being killed by carelessness of road hunters shooting down a posted road and killing him in his vehicle. Death is a very hard thing to deal with at times and you just have to be there for everyone when the time comes. I don't care what you say, everyone cries and it is alright to express your feelings to your family. Godspeed!

I lost an aunt to cancer, but that was when I was a child, and wasn't particularly close to her. She is the only one that died of that cause in my family, but regardless of the cause, to lose someone close is not a happy event.

Feeling sorry for ur loss. But there is a saying, u wil realise how much a person is important only when they are away from u. When they are near, we dont damn consider them.

Sorry to hear about your loss, Techymike. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family in this time. But do not grieve, for she is now with our father in heaven, and is no longer burdened by the evils of this world.

My mother die in 1998 of cancer, after being diagnosed in 1983...

Please everyone quit smoking. It gives nothing but costs everything.
