Windows 7: Quick Reply Oddity

Just today, I have started noticing that when using the Quick Reply to respond to a thread, that my post is added to my last one, instead of adding it new. This is disconcerting, because my comments not appearing in normal sequence means that they don't relate to the normal flow of discussion. What is happening?

Were your replies consecutive posts in a row, or after someone else had replied from your last reply?

If it was consecutive posts, then it was a new mod to prevent them and bumping when no attachments are involved in either post.

Both. Some were back to back, but others were separated by posts from others.

Were these other posts in between yours deleted? In other words, was there a post or posts between your previous post and the one you were currently creating when creating it, yet when you saved the post you were creating these other post(s) had been deleted?

Could you also post a link to them for us to review?

I think this may be an explanation, because where this was most problematic is in the Windows Activation thread in the News Forum. It appears that some posts are being deleted by the mods, and this is creating havoc with the thread. Perhaps the intent of the mod is good, but in effect the net result is very negative. It is creating such a disruption of discussion, that I'm beginning to feel that participating in such a thread is of no value. If this combination of moderation and combining of posts continues, I shall probably discontinue active participation in the forum altogether. I imagine that the admins see it differently, but the free discussion of a topic (within normal forum ettiquette) and coherence of posts is of more importance than some kind of savings of thread length or format created by the mod.

From what I see of that thread it was a good decision to close it, well done.
