No, just the Japanese series with english subs. I knew there was at least one movie made based on the series, meant to watch it, but then forgot all about.

He explained to Ryouk (in the first few episodes), that he wanted people to realise that someone was causing the "incidents". IMO - That was his (1st) mistake.
