    Sweet Tooth Solution

Last year, when I went for a medical exam, i weighed 239 lbs. The doctor recommended that I use an artificial sweetener, instead of sugar. When I complained that I hated artificial sweeteners, she recommended trying Splenda. Shopping online, I found both Splenda and a liquid version that is called Splendex. I ordered the latter, and have been using it in everything, except items that doesn't typically have a version sweetened with this, which is most things in the store. So, even though I have not used a spoon full of sugar since, I still get a lot of sugar through other items.

I just returned from the doctor's office, and I weighed 203 lbs, so it did get rid of 36 lbs fairly easily. Now if I could get rid of another 20-30 lbs by next year, I would feel pretty good. But, to do that, I will need to find a source for other foods sweetened with Splenda/Splendex or Stevia, which isn't too bad either, or start making more things at home, but I have never cared too much for cooking.

It's a shame that when one does find a sugarless product, it is usually signifcantly more expensive that a sugar sweetened one. About the only thing other than sweetening coffee that I have used this for, is to make homemade ice cream. While I can't say that it equals those bought at the store, it isn't bad. I think that most of the difference is due to my recipe, rather than the sweetener.

I wish that I knew of other good recipes that didn't involve too much preparation, because I would like to keep this weight trend going.

I guess that I will have to Google Rachel Ray, because I never heard of her, but 30 minutes is too long for a person accustomed to a max of 3 minutes in a microwave. :)

I Googled her, but it doesn't look as though her recipes are sugarfree. When I ran a search on her website for that, it only produced three recipes, two of which wouldn't normally contain sugar anyway, and the other that did use regular sugar. Her recipes might be good for someone wanting a low-fat diet, or something of that sort...I don't know.

Suggest you get a good thin woman in a hurry who is a good cook.

Carrying that much weight is dangerous. Do you plan on being around for long?
Obviously big changes have to made to your lifestyle, exercise & diet to get you back to an acceptable weight.
This will require willpower & motivation on your part.
    It can be done.

Had you said that to me at 239lbs, I would have agreed, but not at 203. Since you don't know how tall that I am, you don't know what my ideal weight should be. I just checked a chart, and for my height and frame, it says that I should be 158-179lbs. I might believe the heavier figure, but I was never at 158 lbs, even right after bootcamp, and everybody thought that I was too thin.

I would like to get back to ~175-180, that is the reason for this thread, I want to lose another 20-30 lbs, despite the fact that my doctor thought that was too much.

EDIT: BTW, there is not too much that I can do about lifestyle and exercise, because I'm disabled. Considering the circumstances, I feel that I'm doing pretty good.

EDIT 2: Oops! I looked at the wrong chart. it should be 164-188, so that puts me 15 lbs over the range.

Perhaps your original post would have been more helpful had it included all relevant information.
If you feel that you are nearing your target that is admirable. May you achieve it soon. Good luck.
