Sorry to hear you're having problems sleeping Kari my friend and as BFK says go careful with the Barbs and Scotch.
You don't want to be remembered like Jimi Hendrix only not as good on guitar

I'm having similar issues at the moment. On Monday I fell off a chair decorating, broke two ribs and punctured a lung.
Doctor said I was lucky I didn't break my back.
Needless to say this is immensely painful. I can't cough, breath deeply, move much and most importantly I can't laugh
I've been given some extra strong codeine which knock me out so I've been back to bed 3 times already today.
This is quite a performance as it takes 20 minutes to get my trousers off.
Once in bed I can sleep for about two hours and then wake myself up by moving and causing incredible pain.
My screams of pain are a concern for Jack, The Hound of Mystery, so he jumps onto the bed and onto me causing further screaming.

    I'd laugh if I could

ps Talisker far too good to waste as a sedative

Sorry to hear you're having problems sleeping Kari and John, ouch, you take care, trouble is they can't really do anything for broken ribs can they, it's not as if they can put them in plaster.

I can imagine that your screaming would upset the dog but it doesn't help him jumping on you trying to show his concern, I hope they don't take too long to heal and you're not in pain for too long.:)

@Thorsen: I could try but it is forbidden in Germany, only researches can buy it to use in non-human experiments.

@Maineac: Thanks, I like choir music. You know our pride and joy, the boys' choir Thomanerchor? When Johan Sebastian Bach worked as organist in Thomaskirche, St. Thomas Church, here in Leipzig he was the director of this choir between 1723 and 1750. Some traditions there!

@Ted & John: Thanks for warning. Does not happen so often, it's just that yesterday I wanted sleep so desperately I was pissed off when the barbs didn't help. Opened the bottle and tried that. Didn't help.

Anyway, I never take more than two pills.

And John, I'm sorry for you. I know how broken ribs can hurt, it's really PITA (or in your case PITC, Pain In The Chest ).

Ok sorry Kari, I didn't know Meletonin was illegal there. I have taken them before when i was suffering from insomnia (lol i almost wrote insanity). They helped a lot. other things I had to do was change my lifestyle. I don't drink any caffine or sugar at night and that makes a big difference.

    Kari;

Years ago working a second shift, 4PM to 2AM, has nearly destroyed any chance for me of "normal" sleeping habits. However illogical it might sound, I can sleep with the TV (or music) on. In the dark and quiet, my mind races thinking about anything and everything. The sound of the TV disrupts this and lets me sleep, mostly.

    Been there, done that!

Well today I've spent the better part of it baby sitting, so I'm cream crackered, but I've got some lovely photo's of the boys.

There had been an offer on professional photo's for babies so Kelly took them both. It was really just to have Connor, the youngest done as his brother Cameron had his done last year.

They went to pick them up today and they are great, OK I know I'm biased, they are both all smiles.
I'll have to scan them into my computer and put them in my album.
