I use ATT in the US. They are a little expensive but things work. In Germany I use a subsidiary of German Telecom. They are a lot cheaper and work well too.

I have used AT&T in the US for about 8 years. The downtime is almost nil. I have had a few stinkers in my time though. == I once had a company that did my webhosting. They were in India or some place over there. I logged on to my site one day and instead there was a message from my host that their communications had been taken over by the government and they were down until further notice. I never did find out what happened as I changed webhosts the next day.

i'm hooked up with charter communications. they provide my internet, phone, and cable tv. i pay for a 10mbs download and 1mbs upload speed, but charter is "generous" and gives us paying customers a speed boost in download and upload speeds. Charter Communications : Digital Cable, High Speed Internet and Telephone - Free Fast

however, even though i'm paying for 10 down and 1 up speeds, i consistently get this: http://www.speedtest.net/result/740900741.png

so based on that, i give them a 9 / 10 (can't give them 10 /10!)

-10/10 , I can't tell you who they are or I might get shot. Although they must deserve atleast 1/10 for providing an internet service. I really hate our internet, for about $100 NZ per month for 1mbps, 5gb.

I live in the sticks and had Hughes satellite - supposedly the best of the satellite providers. They were horrible. Tech support was evasive and d/l speeds dropped dramatically after 10:00 am each day. Some days, it barely beat dial-up. We finally got ATT's 3G wireless for our Desktop (cell tower 1/2 mile away), and they're consistently good, but pricey, at $60/month for 5 GB data/month.

I live in Alabama and have AT&T FastAccess DSL Xtreme 6.0 and usually get about 5.5 to 6.5 download speed. Had it for a little over a year and haven't had any downtime yet. Considering this is the fastest available for where I live, I can't complain. Still a little pricey though. 8.5/10.
