Oh ok, I didnt know that gurus can give big reps... lol if only some guru would rep me :P
Last I checked Guru's could only give 50 rep points at a time. So even if I were to rep you now for no real reason at all, you'd still need 31 more rep points before you met one of the Skilled Badge requirements.

The max Guru's could rep may have changed, theres no keeping up with it anymore.
HMM, my "rep power" says 96 points. I always assumed that this is what I could give. Check in your CP - you should have even more.
What it says and what it gives have differed since the limit was put into place. I can test it now just to see since I intended to rep a person anyways.

User CP says I have 138 reputation points, I give 50. Yep, thought so.

No repping in Chillout or News threads. Maximum rep given is 50 pts unless you are Admin. You have to spread rep arround to 15 other members before you can rep same member again.

Yeah, a newcomer may have 1 or 2 rep points, but a guru may have 80 or 100 or more.
But there may be a problem for you. On your postings, there is no rep button. Maybe you want to verify that.
I noticed that only in the Chillout Room posts there arent rep buttons for any posts, but I have rep buttons on posts on other forum sections.
They did that to prevent un-earned reputation or something like that, same thing applies to the News section of SF. Hmm one more post and I have 3,000.

Hmm, Good you reminded me of the 50 rep point rule (which I think is a good rule - prevents abuse). I now vaguely remember having seen this discussion.

I found it a good rule. Though the removal of negative rep was rather annoying to me. People forget that rep isn't just a number its your 'reputation' with people.

Yeah, but like in any system, there is room for interpretation. If you get 50 points twice from "friends" versus 2 points from 50 different people that you really helped. Is that the same?
