Its all because those states are so flat.

Did you ever try put a bit of water on a cookie sheet and carry it across the kitchen without spilling it? You can't -- the water sloshes from one side to the other 'til it goes over the edge. It the same with the weather. One day the warm air sloshes up from the Gulf. The next the cold sloshes down from the pole. Its just too flat!

Y'all need some mountains or sumptin'.

Oklahoma has one of the most varied landscapes of any state in the US. Have you heard of the rolling hills, the Ozark mountains, etc.:

This all reminds me of my native Finland, the region Lapland where I'm coming from. It's all north from the Arctic Circle. Winters are long but beautiful, but the summers are absolutely fabulous.

Last summer was especially breathtaking there. It was a Tuesday afternoon...

    Damn. There goes that fix.

OK, how 'bout this: Light Kansas on fire. Not a big fire, a small one... kinda like a smudge pot?

I can half way understand the paradigm of people of some states, both of geographical and mental definitions, considering the prevalent biases that tend to exist from one area of the country to another, but I don't understand when people from another country, who I doubt has any personal experience involved, chimes in, as though they did.
