Windows 7: UK - Tesco supermarket cheapest for computer stuff

some firms seem to be bucking the trend -- typical Computer (A4) printer / copier paper seems to have got really pricey these days. PC WORLD in the UK for example is charging nearly 5 GBP for 500 sheets of the cheapest paper.

Anyway I was in a huge supermarket in the UK the other day -- TESCO and they had just as good quality of paper for 2GBP -- more than TWICE as cheap.

I also saw stuff like Motherboards, printers, USB sticks. LAPTOPS etc etc all at MUCH cheaper prices than more traditional outlets like a Computer store such as PC world.

The laptops were cheaper also by far than the equivalent computer store models.

Now without getting into an argument about the relative merits of large Supermarket chains such as TESCO - from a price point of view you might do well to look to these places for cheap supplies\rather than more traditional "Electronic" / Computer stores.

I also bought a great NEW Laptop at 150 GBP CHEAPER than the price I was going to pay at an Internet seller.

So I might be the ONLY person in the UK at the moment who doesn't have a "HATE THING" with TESCO -- it supplied what I needed at a much cheaper price than anywhere else I tried.

So here's ONE greatful TESCO customer. - I never thought I'd be saying that BTW.

Agreed Jimbo. They often have stuff much cheaper than computer shops.
Also worth a look are ALDI and LDL.
I got a graphics slate from ALDI for £14.99. Came home and Googled it and the cheapest I could find (same brand) was £40.
ALDI normally have one cheap "major" electrical device on offer all the time. These have been laptops, large LCD tvs and power tools in the past.

Well Tesco was were I got my copy of Windows 7 when the promo price was about ready for launch day, I think it was the cheapest around at the time.

I always say thanks to Tesco, just finished putting my grocery shopping away plus I've had several electrical items from them before and they're good.

Tesco is really good for prices. I take it you have a clubcard jimbo?

agreed tesco are brilliant for computers, i recently bought a laptop from them, should have been about £500 got it for £350, my only "gripe" is they dont give out specs on the stuff they sell, which means you have to do a bit of digging to find it

I only go to Tescos for Marie Biscuits. Nothing else. As they are to dear for food!

They do a viable Hobnob substitute for about 45p! Think there called Oaties or something like that.
What are Marie Biscuits?

personally foodwise i like morrisons, they always have offers the rustlers burgers and dr pepper 2L bottles,

anyone care to hazard a guess on my diet?
