Image theft is piracy too
I'll probably get into trouble for posting this but whilst the forum frowns strongly on software, movie and music piracy I notice nothing is said about copyright theft of still images, both as images posted on the boards and for a fair number of themes and customisations.
What are your views on this?

i think most of the images posted here are royalty free images from deviant art et al any copywrited images would have a watermark on them, thats my personal opinion :)

It's too hard to police images, so if somebody complains their image is being used without their permission, we remove them.

It's a different kettle of fish imo. Have a read of the T&C for sites like MySpace, FaceBook ect, and you'll see that images you upload there, personal or otherwise can be used by those sites or their partners without your consent, so it's a hard one to call on whether or not it's actually theft.

I honestly dont see the problem, as long as you dont go around saying your the one that made it. And if you dont want it to be used, do as pebbly said, watermark it

Sometimes, when reading a thread such as this, I start expecting someone to post a thread about whether it is piracy or theft to breathe in someone else's space.
