it just means your being noticed, its a friendly gesture, alot of our gurus automatically add people as they hit a certain skill level, go ahead and say yes if you want, it doesnt do any harm

It's just a welcoming gesture for many of us.

It also makes finding members' profile pages easy.

Even though we may never meet, personalites come through the computer, friednships can be formed. I notify those that I want to be friends with by sending a friend request. You will like the feature.

I asked the same question, back when first getting these, and got the same answers. Saying yes is no problem.

I came to this site for help and stayed here mostly for help surprisingly i found i am able to give advice occasionally that has been helpful and i always feel honoured and sometimes not worthy when i receive a friends request .I do feel like im part of a community and as someone recently told me when i was particularly fed up about a computer disaster that i am part of a family here ( insert smiley with a violin here!)

Considering that it is easier to talk to members here than it is my own family, that is saying something.

They do say ," you can choose your friends but not your family" although this may be a contradiction of terms here
