Windows 7 - problem fixed itself.....

problem fixed itself.....

Gah, i got a phone call from my parents that live about 15 mins away, saying their printing isnt working.

I personally fixed this computer and set it all up myself AND checked to make sure it worked. So i get the call, and start heading that way. About 10 mins into the drive she calls me back saying "oh nevermind, it started working."

I cant remember how many times i've heard the same thing. That it magically fixes itself when i'm on my way over OR, the problem doesnt happen when i'm over there to fix it.

Can i get any witnesses? :P

happens to me too... almost exactly same situation, set up the girlfriends printer on a network for her so her parents and sister can use it too, made sure everything was working, set static ip's etc. 2 days later i get a phone call
GF:"printer isn't working"
Me: is the router and the printer turned on?
GF: yes its saying its printing nothings happening,

i get over there, and she hasnt turned the router on.... all the time insisting that i had done something to break it

in fairness though... alot of the time, minor problems do fix themselves, i have lost track of the amount of times my pc has been "misbehaving" even after a reboot but switching it off and unplugging it for 30 seconds does the job

Yea, or even just a restart can fix many problems. Or making sure the device is plugged in or turned on.
