    I think I don't need a computer at all.

Lately I've found that all i do online is
    1. post on one or two forums, such as this one
    2. check the weather and other info
    3. facebook
    4. cafe world on facebook
    5. check my email
    6. view webcomics on an rss feed

#4 I cannot do on my BB storm, and I thought I couldn't do #6, but now I have installed viigo and found I CAN.
So now I figure that for the amount of time and hassle I could just use my BB, and occasionally use a full desktop OS when needed. and since Bell now allows tethering on smartphone data plans, I don't need another internet line.

Give it to the Salvation Army if you don't need it, maybe someone else has a need for it.

I hear where you are coming from. Over the years, I have seen my need for PC power dwindle as well. I've moved from gaming on PC's to just using consoles because it's easier. I do quite a bit of forum sites and facebook stuff as well. The most taxing thing that I regularly do is rip movies from Netflix to my computer, and then put them on a rewriteable DVD, watch them and then erase back over the discs.

Give it away if you're certain but remember, you never really appreciate something until its gone.

    Opposite here.
I work from home & if I go from 3 to 4 screens on my W7 machine (plus a Macbook) on my desk the wife will leave.
    Always using.....
    Photoshop
    Dreamweaver
    Flash
    multiple VPNs
    gmail
    MS Exchange
    Thunderbird
    FireFTP
    Chrome/FF/Opera/IE/Safari
    Office
    etc........

Getting a little burnt......seems such a fake existence really!

I have never considered a computer a matter of "need", and unless a person is using one for business, few people really need one. It is a matter of want, not need.

At the moment I really don't own a computer (being 17), but I figure all I need is my phone, My Wii (maybe a PS3), and a mini powerhouse for stuff I can't do on my phone (like dvd ripping/converting, Café World, and stuff I can't think of at the moment)
