need help please

i reloaded windows xp into my computer. when my computer boots up it gives me 2 choices

run windows xp home edition or widows media edition

1st should i get rid of one of these. the windows media one has a problem

also the new system (windows xp home edition) says no audio device installed so i can not play any audio but the windows media one has an audio device in it. i believe it is realtek

my question is how do i and should i remove the windows media edition and is there a way to save the components in oreder for my sound card to work

i am pretty decent with the computer but would appreciate a step by step thing. kinda like computer for dummies

Hello COOLRITE,

We normally only discuss Windows 7 issues here. I moved this post to the Chillout Room since it is off topic from the forum.

You might also try the Windows XP Newsgroups for issues about XP.

I hope you get a solution soon,
Shawn

What version of XP are you trying to install and have you completely removed Windows 7 from the machine, I don't know what version of the beta you had installed.

Did you make a new partition for Windows 7 or install it over the top of XP ?

You must have been posting while I was writing mine Shawn, I thought I'd ask a few questions to find out if he realised he was in a Windows 7 forum or not
