now for the ppl who argue against TPB..... replace rapidshare with TPB... now this is who could and maybe should be in court instead of TPB IMHO.... rapidshare hosts....

Jim i understand your situation but i'll be beaver dammed before i pay for a service like that as such. I understand all the yadda yadda stuff, and bw isnt free, but still... I still like to live back in the pioneer days of sattelite tv and wild feeds, back when it was free for anyone who could pick up the signal.... one day the internet may go the same way as sattlelite (big dish) has gone, nothing for free and having to pay for everywhere you go.

Sorry for firing this thread up again, but I find it interesting. I have been using Rapidshare and DepositFiles for several years now. It has provided me with tons of things (not porn...be nice). I am now faced with a decision to renew RS for another year or not. If they are giving out information to those who wish to bring legal action against your average joe, then I guess I should find a better way. The problem is that "so much" good stuff is on RS. I prefer not to use newsgroups or torrents. So can someone suggest a better filehosting service that keeps user information private? Or is that not possible?

I love my sharebee.com When you upload to Sharebee it makes a copy to 5 other hosting sites including Deposit Files, Megaupload, RS, Badago, and one other one. This way if one hosting site deletes my upload I can choose a different hosting site that has it still. It's very sweet. I usually password protect the things i upload :)
